DELIVER HOLIDAY GIFTS TO HOMELESS FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS!

MILLERSVILLE, MD (Dec 28, 2018) – Four days before Christmas, while most area residents were getting in some last-minute shopping or wrapping gifts to put under the tree, a pair of local business owners were busy making the day merry and bright for some homeless four-legged friends.

Beth Hall, owner of Tag and Title Service of Maryland, and her dad Joe Hall, owner of Silverstar Service Center, traveled by car rather than Santa’s sleigh to deliver gifts and goodies to the Anne Arundel County Animal Care and Control Shelter in Millersville. They were joined by Tag and Title Service co-worker Heather Marrero.

“We donated 20 dog and cat beds, four bags of food, a few toys and care items, and three bags of treats,” said Beth Hall, who along with Marrero made the dog and cat beds by hand.  “We wanted to reduce stress and anxiety in the pets being adopted so they felt more at home.”

The trio of Santa’s elves arrived at the county’s Maxwell Frye Road shelter just after 2 p.m. on the afternoon of Dec. 21.  While Beth Hall talked with shelter staff during an impromptu tour of the facility, Joe Hall and Marrero spent most of their time visiting the feline room, lavishing attention on several cats in need of “forever homes.”

“I love cats,” Marrero said.  “I’m hoping I can convince Beth and Joe to adopt one. It would be our office mascot!”

Beth Hall said this was the first year she and her dad had donated items to the shelter, although they had previously attended “Pistons and Paws” this past June. That free event featured an automobile and motorcycle show, along with adoptable pets from the county animal shelter and some of its rescue group partners.

“That’s when we first got the idea to collect items and donate them to the shelter,” Beth Hall recalled.

Both companies are second generation, family-owned small businesses that have served the Annapolis-Edgewater communities for more than three decades. They believe in providing quality customer service with a personal touch, Beth Hall said.
